Deliverable 6.2 – Country profiles

National Country Profiles (CPs) present key facts and national priorities for suicide prevention in a compact format. They summarize results of the national Situation and Needs Analysis (SANA), recommendations and prioritized measures for suicide prevention as well as outlining next steps necessary to scale-up i.e. promote national/regional suicide prevention activities.

CPs are an integral part and output of the pre-implementation phase of JA ImpleMENTAL, the final step being the formulation of action plans for prioritized measures and quick wins (pilots). Action plans guide and promote successful transfer and pilot implementation of selected elements of best practice “SUPRA” in the implementing countries in a structured and comprehensive way. As an overarching measure all countries draft i.e. revise (existing) suicide prevention strategies.

Country profiles form the basis for developing abovementioned action plans, for national strategy formulation, decision-making and are also a declaration of commitment to suicide prevention.

All countries participating in WP6 Suicide Prevention produced National Country Profiles: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Greece, Iceland, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. CPs are all structured in a comparable way (sections, indicators presented), the main focus does however not rest on comparability, but on national usability/value of the profile e.g. as input for strategy development/revision.
