Thematic Workshop for sustainability and health policy and legislation: community mental health care to be held in Utrecht

Join us for two days of collaborative exploration and knowledge exchange to help shape the future of community mental health care.

Our country teams implementing the Belgian Mental Health Reform, MSPC & stakeholder forum members as well as JA ImpleMENTAL work package Leads are kindly invited for the two-day hybrid event organized by JA ImpleMENTAL and WHO-Europe.

The hybrid thematic workshop:“Sustainability, Health Policy and Legislation: Community Mental Health Care”  is also online and in person will take place in Utrecht the Netherlands on February 28-29, 2024. This event aims to foster and facilitate the development of a network focused on mental health system development, but also provide a platform to emphasise why mental health transformations are important now, and envisage how these transformations can be in the short and long-term in the future

The event has two major themes:

  1. Core Principles of Community-Based Care: Sustaining the Recovery Approach and Intersectoral Collaboration
  2. Workshop on: WHO-Europe Guidance on mental health policies and legislation.

Event Objectives:

  • Parallel consideration of sustainability elements during implementation
  • Facilitation of country engagement and exchange on specific topics
  • Creation of initial practical recommendations through workshop outcomes

Tentative Agenda Highlights:

  1. Conceptualizing sustainability of the Belgian Mental Health Reform
  2. Insights from a country outside the JA-ImpleMENTAL on intersectoral work
  3. Fidelity of (F)ACT implementation at the country level
  4. Peer-led recovery college perspectives
  5. WHO guidance on mental health policies and legislation
