

The fourth training within the ImpleMENTAL’s Work package 6 (WP6 – Suicide prevention) on suicide and self-harm data and registry will take place online (via Zoom) on the 25th of May (9:30-15:30 MET), with a follow-up session on the 6th of June (9:30-12:00 MET).
The training is intended for everyone, NOT ONLY JA ImpleMENTAL/WP6 participants. It might be interesting for representatives of: policy-making-institutions (e.g. ministries), statistical offices, emergency services, research (e.g. universities, research centers) as well as for people with lived experience and any other people interested in the topic.

More information about the training
The aims of the training are:
- to present good examples of surveillance systems linked to suicide and self-harm
- to provide guidance to representatives of the countries involved in the JA ImpleMENTAL project – to those that are trying to establish and maintain a surveillance system, as well as to those who aim to conduct more sophisticated analyses using their existing systems
- to discuss and reflect on how to use a surveillance system in suicide prevention
We will cover the questionof what are the basic steps in compiling statistics on suicidal behaviour and related aspects, present examples of a live surveillance data systems and discuss how it´s possible to use them, share experiences with combining different registers and utilizing suicide related data with innovative research approaches and focus also on psychological autopsies.
