

Recognizing the importance of World Mental Health Day, almost all Serbian media reported on the state of mental health in Serbia, referring to this year’s WHO campaign.
There is scope of activities undertaken by the network of public health institutes all around the country, but the regional Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina went step further organizing The Mental Health Festival from October 10 to 20, with following activities at multiple locations in city of Novi Sad, Subotica and Sombor and online: workshops, interactive lectures, tribunes and round tables, prize competitions, film screenings with discussion, exhibitions, outdoor activity, theater performance, interactive performances, Pub quiz.
The central event of the WMHD is the opening of the Center for Autism, which will work through the cooperation of the Ministry of Health, the Clinic for Neurology and Psychiatry for Children and Youth, and the Clinic for Psychiatric diseases “Dr. Laza Lazarevic”. The signing of the tripartite agreement on the sustainability of health system support, between the Ministry of Health and the two mentioned clinics, aims to initiate further interdepartmental cooperation, that is, to motivate other institutions to deal more with this topic.
